Custer has a community-relations program with
a dual approach: Investing in our communities
and building public partnerships that advance community-development and educational programs.

Adopt-a-Highway

Custer Workplace Interiors has been participating in the Adopt-a-Highway program for many years. Our employees show their pride in the community in which they live and work by helping clean up a portion of the East Beltline.

United Way

Dave and Karen Custer have a great appreciation of United Way’s accomplishments in the West Michigan area. They show their support by making personal contributions and by encouraging Custer employees to support United Way through a fall fundraising campaign at Custer. Custer has won ‘Gold Awards’ for outstanding giving over the years. Dave Custer has served numerous times as board member for the "Heart of West Michigan" United Way Campaign.

Jeans Day

Custer employees may wear jeans to work on the first Friday of each month if they donate money to a charity that day. Through ‘Jeans Day’ donations Custer employees have been able to help support such worthy causes as National Kidney Foundation, Kids Food Basket, Heart of an Angel, Inter City Christian Federation, International Aid, and the American Red Cross.

Angel Tree

Christmas 2007 - Custer employees were able to brighten the holidays for a group of teen moms who are working to get their high school diplomas at Park High School in Grand Rapids. Moms and their babies were ‘adopted’ by individual Custer employees through the Angel Tree program and given Christmas gifts. It was a delight for Custer employees to share with the moms and their babies!
